Turning everyday health management into a more confident, less overwhelming experience.
Project overview
LivingWith™UC is a companion app designed to help people living with ulcerative colitis navigate life beyond the doctor’s office. The goal was to reduce the cognitive load of managing a chronic condition. Helping patients build confidence in their daily routines and prepare for conversations with their care team.
My contributions
Designed high-fidelity mobile experiences across core patient journeys.
Built a scalable component library that improved consistency across the product.
Partnered with UX, engineering, and brand teams from concept through developer handoff.
Ensured accessibility through WCAG-compliant design patterns.
Key design decisions
Familiar over novel — Used native iOS patterns to reduce cognitive load.
Simple over complex — Broke healthcare information into manageable tasks.
Systems over screens — Built reusable components for consistency and scalability.
Accessible by default — Designed to WCAG standards from day one.

Impact
📱 2,000+ App Store downloads
🏥 Pfizer’s second most-downloaded patient application
♿ WCAG-compliant mobile experience
🎨 Established a scalable design system across multiple product features
Reflection
Designing for chronic illness reinforced that the best healthcare experiences aren’t the ones with the most features. They’re the ones that make the next step feel clear. Small improvements in clarity and accessibility can have an outsized impact on everyday care.
